La ciudad de La Banda despidió hoy con profundo dolor a una de sus leyendas: Mario Rolando «Musha» Carabajal. Sus restos llegaron esta madrugada a su ciudad natal, la “Cuna de Poetas y Cantores”, para recibir el homenaje de un pueblo que lo vio nacer y lo consagró como referente del folclore nacional.
El velatorio se llevó a cabo de 7 a 9 de la mañana en la parroquia Santiago Apóstol, frente a la plaza Belgrano, donde se congregaron familiares, amigos, músicos y admiradores para rendirle el último tributo. Entre los presentes se destacaron figuras del ámbito artístico como Walter Carabajal, Blas Sansierra, Héctor Kairuz, Marcelo Toledo, Lucio «El Indio» Rojas y «Chaco» Andrada. También acompañó el intendente de La Banda, Roger Nediani.
«Musha» Carabajal, fallecido el pasado domingo 13 de abril en Buenos Aires, fue integrante de Los Carabajal y Los Quimsa, agrupación que compartió con “Alito” Toledo y Guillermo Ocón. También tuvo una destacada trayectoria como exjugador del Club Mitre.
Su cuerpo será inhumado en el cementerio Parque del Sol, donde descansará en paz, mientras su música seguirá sonando en la memoria del pueblo. Su legado artístico, íntimamente ligado al tradicional sonido de Los Carabajal, marcó generaciones y dejó una huella imborrable en la identidad cultural de Santiago del Estero.
La comunidad artística y toda la provincia se encuentran profundamente conmovidas por su partida. Hoy, La Banda no solo despide a un músico: despide a un símbolo de su historia y su corazón.
